What an inspiring choral workshop we had under the capable direction of Greg Quan on Saturday, October 29th.  After having had some time to reflect on that day, I am not sure whether to express my appreciation more for the choral techniques I learned with ideas for better breathing and tone quality, conducting cutoffs, having “sparkly eyes” and enthusiastically joining our voices together in the musical selections, OR the life skills of centering, thinking of what brings me joy and focusing on building connections.

The Pender Harbour Choir is thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Choral Director, Kenneth Norman Johnson. Kenneth is a composer, lyricist, producer, director, conductor and educator. The Choir could not be more fortunate in having him at the helm.

Sunsine Coasters will recognize Kenneth from his performances at various local venues and events, and the Choir was privileged to work with him in fall of 2015 on his composition, Castles in the Snow. He has roots in the community and is supporter of a number of musical and non-musical local initiatives.

I recommend this and have heard from Canadian choir managers of the high value the program offered.

If your board can afford it or someone has some air miles to donate to a primary administrator, I'd consider it strongly. Here is the nicely formatted web link:
