Nanaimo Choirs Join Together for the Nanaimo Sings! Festival 2015

Published on September 14, 2015

Fourteen Choirs, 6 Festival concerts and a Gala Performance!

Nanaimo choristers are looking forward to this event of singing and camaraderie. This will be the third such festival since the first one in 2008. In the spring of 2011 the second festival took place, followed by Chorfest in Nanaimo in 2013. Featured are large choirs and small ones, classical choirs, barbershop and mixed choirs, young folk and older folk all getting together for the love of singing and music.

At the Gala concert on Sunday Willi Zwozdesky, noted composer, arranger and choral conductor from Vancouver will lead the massed choirs in an exciting massed choir finale. 350 voices will combine to culminate an evening of beautiful music showcasing the diversity and excellence of choral music in our community.

Festival 2015 consists of 6 festival concerts featuring individual performances of 14 choirs in St Andrew's United Church, Nanaimo on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th, ending with a Gala Concert on Sunday 18th in the Port Theatre featuring choirs and massed chorus.

Tickets are $15 for a Festival Pass, with individual concerts $10 at the door. Gala Concert tickets are $20. Tickets are on sale now at the Port Theatre box office. For times and names of participating choirs visit www.nanaimosings.com
